Congratulations to The Wright Group CEO Michael Wright and his son Jett Wright, who recently achieved an outstanding result in one of offshore sailing’s most demanding races, the 2026 Aegean 600.
Representing Howth Yacht Club aboard Xcalibur Team HYC, Michael and Jett formed part of an experienced Irish crew that tackled the gruelling 605-nautical-mile course through the Greek islands. Battling the renowned Meltemi winds, challenging navigation and days of continuous racing, the team delivered an exceptional performance to finish second in class.
The crew, skippered by Darren Wright, brought together a blend of seasoned offshore sailors and emerging talent, with several members returning to the race after competing in 2025. Their preparation, teamwork and endurance paid off with a podium finish in an international fleet of 76 yachts from around the world.
Offshore sailing is often described as the ultimate team sport, demanding resilience, trust, quick decision-making and determination in constantly changing conditions. These are qualities that resonate far beyond the water and reflect the values that underpin The Wright Group every day.
